Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR)

The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR) is based at several locations at the University of Copenhagen. It was established in 2010 and employs approximately 150 people. Research at CBMR takes place in six scientific sections: Integrative Physiology, Metabolic Imaging and Liver Metabolism, Metabolic Genetics, Metabolic Receptology, Translational Metabolic Physiology, and Science Communication. The overarching goal of CBMR is to promote interdisciplinary research into metabolic diseases (e.g. diabetes, obesity), leading to development of novel approaches to metabolic disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
