Copenhagen Bioscience PhD Programme

Fully-funded four year PhD programme in an international scientific environment

Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR)

The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR) is based at the University of Copenhagen. It was established in 2010 and employs approximately 238 people.

Researchers at CBMR study the fundamental mechanisms and biological pathways that underly metabolic health and disease to accelerate new prevention and treatment strategies for obesity and diabetes.

CBMR has four research programs: Integrative Metabolism and Environmental Influences, Human Genomics and Metagenomics in Metabolism, Nutrient and Metabolite Sensing, and Metabolic Science in Culture; and five enabling biology and technology platforms: Phenomics, Rodent Metabolic Phenotyping, Computational Chemistry & Molecular Pharmacology, Single Cell ‘Omics, and Metabolomics.
