Center for Biosustainability (CFB)

The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability (CFB) is embedded at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), and recently moved into a new building at DTU Lyngby. It was established in 2011 and now has over 180 staff in Denmark, with more elsewhere. Research at CFB is focused on development and optimization of cell factories for biosustainable production of chemicals, enzymes and therapeutic proteins. Researchers address many aspects of this process including: cell engineering of bacterial, yeast and CHO cells; synthetic biology; ‘omics and modeling.
